How much do custom printed paper cups cost?
We get this question often, and it’s a fair one. The honest answer is that there’s no single price. The final offer depends on the cup, the quantity, the artwork, the number of designs and where the order is going. It’s like asking for the price of a printed brochure without saying how big it is, how many pages it has or how many copies you need.
You don’t have to prepare a technical specification before you write to us. A few basic details make the quote faster and more accurate, and for the rest we’ll help.
1. Cup size and type
Small, medium and large aren’t precise enough, because a medium in one café is a large in another, and two cups with the same volume can have different dimensions. Tell us the volume, what you’ll serve, and if you have a cup you like now, send a photo, a reference or its dimensions.
Also tell us whether you want single wall or double wall. If you don’t know, describe the situation instead, for example: “We serve takeaway coffee, most customers carry the drink for 15 to 20 minutes, and we’d rather not use sleeves.” That is more useful to us than a guess, and we’ll recommend the right cup.
2. Quantity per size
Give us the quantity for each size and not only the total, for example 5,000 small, 10,000 medium and 5,000 large. Minimums apply per size and per design: from 10,000 pcs for single wall and 5,000 pcs for double wall, and 30,000 pcs for BIO cups. If you plan to reorder regularly, tell us your yearly estimate, because we can often suggest a better way to order, such as storing part of your order in our warehouse near Prague, free of charge, and delivering it as you need it.
3. How many designs
This is easy to miss. 20,000 cups with one design is not the same as 20,000 cups split between four designs. Each design needs its own artwork and its own printing forms, and the minimum applies to each one. Even a design that differs only by a location name counts as a separate design. So tell us the total number of cups, the number of sizes, the number of designs and how many cups each design needs.
4. Your artwork
You might have print-ready artwork, a logo with brand guidelines, only a logo, an existing cup, or just an idea. All of these are fine, but be clear about which one you have, because a logo file isn’t the same as finished cup artwork. The logo still has to be placed on the correct template and meet the printing requirements, and we can do this for you. Mention anything specific, such as brand colours, a QR code, or different designs for different locations. Colours on a screen and on a printed cup can differ, so check the proof carefully before you approve it: spelling, contact details, website, logo, QR code, cup size and position of the design.
5. Lids and accessories
If you need lids, include them in the request. You may also need sleeves, stirrers, cup holders or trays. Don’t choose a lid only because it mentions the same volume. It must fit the rim of your cup, so ask us to confirm the exact cup and lid combination.
6. Delivery and timing
Tell us the country, city and postcode, and whether delivery should be included in the price. If you don’t have a loading dock or a forklift for a pallet, say so, because it changes the type of delivery. And give us a real date and not “as soon as possible”. From an EU factory, an order normally takes 5 to 7 weeks, and that includes choosing the cup, approving the quote and the proof, production and transport. If the cups are for an opening or an event, give us both the event date and the latest date you can accept delivery, and leave some room, because custom packaging shouldn’t arrive the morning you need it.
An example you can copy
We need 10,000 custom printed double wall cups for takeaway coffee, one size and one design. We have our logo and brand guidelines but need help preparing the final artwork. Please include compatible black lids. Delivery is to our address in Prague, and we’d like the cups by December. Please confirm the minimum order, the artwork process, production time and delivery cost.
